Featured Adoptable Pets
Periodically, unique animals find their way into our community of shelters.
They may have special needs, be depressed living the shelter life (and
who wouldn't be?), or simply have great personalities that need an opportunity
to shine. Here we have highlighed a few of those residents.
If you are interested in any of our featured adoptables, please contact
the group or person noted in his/her biography brief.
DOGS
JACOB
This is Jacob. His parents got divorced and he's found himself homeless. He was put in foster awaiting a rescue volunteer who had wanted to
adopt him after her sick dog was passed on. Well, luckily, the dog seems to be doing better than expected. That means that Jacob's
looking for a home.
Jacob's a cute little guy - he's very active and a lot of fun. In his former home he had been starved for attention and not exercised
for the last number of months. The children and the mom moved out and Jacob was left alone for most of the time. The kids are aged 9 and
14 now. The foster home is a single lady just pre-retirement. She does walk him but her house is a little quiet for him as well to be
exposed to things a dog should be.
Jacob's been under socialized. When someone comes into the house he will bark. This was encouraged in his original home.
He's a little timid and will not come right up to someone but will warm up quickly and bring toys to play afterward. He accepts
children before adults. He's the same with dogs and just needs a proper introduction.
He's neutered now and UTD on vaccinations.

EMMA
Hi there! My name is Emma. People always say that I'm a beautiful
dog, but I try not to let it go to my head. I'm a 5 year old boxer/
lab/staff mix who loves to run around my yard and play fetch. I love
exercise! I'm a proud obedience school graduate, and I know how to
sit, stay, lie down, go to my mat, shake a paw, and stay put when
being fed until you tell me to eat. I'm easy to train, because I love
to please. Oh yeah, did I mention that I'm perfectly housebroken and
I don't shed? I love going for walks, and I'm pretty good on a gentle
leader. There is nothing I like more than cuddling up with my humans
and getting a belly rub. Sometimes I forget that I weigh 60 pounds,
and I think I'm a lap dog! I absolutely love ALL people, but some say
I need to learn manners because I get so excited when I have
visitors! I'm good with children, but I may play too rough for
smaller kids. I'm better with kids 12 and up. Although I've grown up
with another dog, I don't get along with most. I've never lived with
a cat, but I'm pretty sure I don't like them. I'd be happiest as an
only pet. I've had a loving home since I was 10 weeks old, but it's
time for me to find a new home, because I refuse to live under the
same roof as my owner's girlfriend's pug! Maybe you'd be interested
in giving me a home. Please fill out the adoption application found at www.animalrescuecoalitions.com then email to arc@seabright.ca .The ladies will process the application as soon as they can. Don't forget to let your vet clinic
know that someone will be calling. They will be checking to make sure
that your past and present pets are spayed/neutered, up to date with vaccinations.
Also that they get some type of flea and worm treatment as this is recommended by veterinarians. Love from Emma

Two agility trained Aussies
Both female, spayed, 6 years old - both house trained & crate trained. Both have been to obedience. Both good with med/large dogs, both
try to herd cats/small dogs - probably not the best with small children because of this.
Possom - blue Merle, brown eyes. Very focused on owner/trainer, very eager to please, very affectionate, will follow you around everywhere.
She has completed agility 1.2.
Abby - tricolour, brown eyes. More independent than Possom, but is lost without her sister around. She is more "distracted" with commands,
but just as affectionate as her sister. She has completed agility 1.
If anyone is interested please contact Suzanne at suzieboobsie@hotmail.comThe dogs are located in the French Shore Nova Scotia (Clare District, in between Digby & Yarmouth).

CATS
ASHES
Hi! My name is Ashes. I am a very special boy as I am deaf. I was living in the woods and only came out at night.
A nice couple tried to get me help . Everyone said they had no room for another cat.
I was some happy when the couple contacted the wonderful ladies at ARC. They said they would help to find me a family of
my own. I am a neutered male about 4 years old. I am a very happy cuddly boy. I love to purr and when I get excited I
tend to drool. I want to live indoors where I will be safe and can relax. I am trained to a litter pan, so no worries
about me making a mess. If you want a handsome boy to snuggle with and give you love Please fill out the adoption
application found at www.animalrescuecoalitions.com then email to arc@seabright.ca. The ladies will process the application as soon as they can. Don't forget to let your vet clinic know that someone will be calling. They will be checking to make sure that your past and present pets are spayed/neutered, up to date with vaccinations. Also that they get some type of flea and worm treatment as this is recommended by veterinarians. Purrs and love Ashes

Cookie
Lucy
Simon
Simon, Lucy and Cookie are all indoor cats looking for a new home.
Simon - DSH, smokey gray in color. Pleasantly plump :) 3 years old. Neutered. Very timid, so would be best to be adopted into a
relatively quiet home. Just wants love and cuddles.
Lucy - DSH. Mostly black, with white on chest and white on tips of toes. Simon's sister. Also pleasantly plump :) 3 years old. Spayed. Also
very timid, so would be best adopted into a quiet home as well. Would be ideal to keep Simon and Lucy together. She LOVES treats and
cries constantly for treats. Maybe why she is so fat!!
Cookie - DSH. Black with small patch of white on chest. Approx 8 years old. Neutered. Craves attention, but timid at first. Very friendly
once he gets to know you. A really nice cat. He was rescued as a kitten from an abusive home.
