Featured Adoptable Pets

Periodically, unique animals find their way into our community of shelters. They may have special needs, be depressed living the shelter life (and who wouldn't be?), or simply have great personalities that need an opportunity to shine. Here we have highlighed a few of those residents.

If you are interested in any of our featured adoptables, please contact the group or person noted in his/her biography brief.

Mofait has been thoroughly vet checked, spayed, up to date on immunizations, undergoing a dental soon & will be available for adoption mid-February. If interested, pls. complete an application via Tiny Paws Dog Rescue Canada www.tpdr.ca. Mofait is being fostered in PEI. aussiesTwo agility trained Aussies

Both female, spayed, 6 years old - both house trained & crate trained. Both have been to obedience. Both good with med/large dogs, both try to herd cats/small dogs - probably not the best with small children because of this. Possom - blue Merle, brown eyes. Very focused on owner/trainer, very eager to please, very affectionate, will follow you around everywhere. She has completed agility 1.2. Abby - tricolour, brown eyes. More independent than Possom, but is lost without her sister around. She is more "distracted" with commands, but just as affectionate as her sister. She has completed agility 1. If anyone is interested please contact Suzanne at suzieboobsie@hotmail.comThe dogs are located in the French Shore Nova Scotia (Clare District, in between Digby & Yarmouth).

CATS

Molly Shelley

Breed: Domestic House Cat – Calico Female Date of Birth: 31 Jul 03 Medical Info: Leukemia Test 18 Oct 03 Feline Spay 03 Mar 04 Vaccination (VAC/FVRCP) and annual exam 06 Apr 09 Personal Info: Shelley is a beautiful, laid back cat and very affectionate with me, the owner. She is not timid at all and when I have visitors, she seems fine most times and will approach whoever comes in with no problems; sometimes she will curl up on someone’s lap – depending on the person. However, she is not good with small children and will be unpredictable at times and snarl and sometimes scratch anyone in her way. She has been separated most times when children visiting. She has lived in a condo with a dog and gets along fine as well as with other dogs visiting and even staying over. As far as getting along with other cats, she has not had that interaction. Shelley tends to want to climb and that means when she is on the balcony, I have to harness her which she is willing to do. She gets her nails trimmed at the vet’s office as she is contrary to have me do it. She had her belly and back trimmed by the groomer last year due to tangling. Overall, Shelley is a soft, loveable pet for adults. For more information, please email lcrewe@eastink.ca.

CookieCookie

LucyLucy

Simon Simon

Simon, Lucy and Cookie are all indoor cats looking for a new home. Simon - DSH, smokey gray in color. Pleasantly plump :) 3 years old. Neutered. Very timid, so would be best to be adopted into a relatively quiet home. Just wants love and cuddles. Lucy - DSH. Mostly black, with white on chest and white on tips of toes. Simon's sister. Also pleasantly plump :) 3 years old. Spayed. Also very timid, so would be best adopted into a quiet home as well. Would be ideal to keep Simon and Lucy together. She LOVES treats and cries constantly for treats. Maybe why she is so fat!! Cookie - DSH. Black with small patch of white on chest. Approx 8 years old. Neutered. Craves attention, but timid at first. Very friendly once he gets to know you. A really nice cat. He was rescued as a kitten from an abusive home. Please contact Jennifer for more information at (902) 472-2207 or email jencapeling@eastlink.ca.
